Bohlin Cywinski Jackson’s designs for the Ballard Library and Neighborhood Service Center and the Pocono Environmental Education Center are featured in Lessons From the Leading Edge, an in-depth study of sustainable design practices issued by The American Institute of Architects Committee on the Environment (COTE).

The report analyzes the progression of sustainable design throughout two decades of AIA COTE Top Ten Award winning projects, highlighting the Ballard Library and Pocono Environmental Education Center in its ‘Design & Innovation’ category. The projects, cited for their integration of sustainable performance and design excellence, stand out among a group of nearly 200 projects whose standards for energy efficiency, water conservation, and indoor environmental quality demonstrate COTE’s mission to “enhance both the design quality and environmental performance of the built environment.”
