Patricia Culley and Robert Aumer to Present at Living Future 2017

Date May 18, 2017
Location Seattle
Patricia Culley and Robert Aumer will lead a presentation for the International Living Futures Institute 2017 National Conference.

Entitled “Durable and Democratic: The story behind the City of Pittsburgh’s Frick Environmental Center”, the presentation is an in-depth case study focusing on equity, from concept through construction of this unique public facility.

Nestled in Pittsburgh’s Frick Park, the LBC-targeted Frick Environmental Center serves as a living classroom of environmental education, free and open to the public. The project is an extraordinary example of equity in architecture, reinforcing the notion that sustainability should be for people of all ages and backgrounds.

The Frick Environmental Center is not only Bohlin Cywinski Jackson’s first Living Building Challenge-targeted project, but will also be the first municipally owned, free admission public facility to achieve LBC certification.
