December 01, 2017

Interior Design magazine’s 33rd annual Hall of Fame ceremony took place last night at the Javits Convention Center in New York City. Editor in chief Cindy Allen hosted the event, inducting five honorees who have made significant impacts in design, and whose leadership and ingenuity will have lasting effects on the industry.

Bohlin Cywinski Jackson’s founding partner, Peter Q. Bohlin, was honored for his noteworthy contributions to the practice of architecture. Other 2017 inductees include Robin Klehr Avia, Lidewij Edelkoort, and Mark Zeff. Architect I.M. Pei was also honored during the ceremony, which was hosted in a building of his own design.

During his acceptance speech, Peter told the audience how fortunate he feels to collaborate with so many talented people in the design industry: “You depend on others, grow because of others, and that’s what our careers are about,” he said. “It’s an extraordinary life, and we’re all lucky to be in this profession.”
